Welcome to Remember Me. This blog was created to help the forgotten wives and children who have husbands and father’s in custody. Through no fault of their own, these innocent victims are instantly thrown into a situation that leaves many of them feeling alone, helpless, hopeless and detached from society. Though family members do not sit behind the bars, they are in an emotional prison house of sorts due to a situation beyond their control. A large segment of society has no compassion for this group of people. I hope that this site will help you to find encouragement that you are not alone and there is someone out there who knows how you feel and what you are going through.
I know what it’s like to stay and wait for phone calls. And when the phone doesn’t ring you wonder if something is wrong. I know what it’s like to be a single mom. I know what it’s like to celebrate your birthday with out your best friend. I know what it’s like to watch your children cry because they miss their daddy. I know what it’s like to watch your newborn reach all their milestones and their dad misses each one. I know what it’s like to feel guilty for having a good time. I know what it’s like to wonder how I’m going to pay for my bills. I know what it’s like for family to take advantage of you because of my situation. I know what it’s like for people to say ” I pray this will teach him”. I know what it’s like to feel so alone. I know what it’s like for people not to reach out. I know what it’s like when family doesn’t come visit. I know what it’s like to feel ashamed of my situation. I know what it’s like….
I also know what it’s like to find supernatural peace in the Lord. I know what it’s like to find comfort only in the Lord. I know what it’s like to find real joy. I know what it’s like to find strength in the Lord. I know what it’s like to find provision in the Lord. I know what it’s like to feel loved by the Lord. I know what it’s like to have a friend who in Christ Jesus is always there and will never judge me. I know what it’s like to feel free. I know what it’s like to not feel ashamed.
It is also my hope that those viewers who have never had a loved one in jail, will leave with a new perspective of what it really feels like to ‘Do Time With a Loved One’. You may leave here with a new friend!
All of the preachings and songs on this site have personally helped me. My prayer is that God would touch your heart and lead you into His Righteousness and your life would be forever changed, I pray that you will find comfort and peace, I pray that you will be strong for your husband and lead him to Christ too. This road is not easy but we can have supernatural joy and peace that only comes from the Lord. Smoking, drugs and alcohol will not free you. Only the Love of Jesus Christ will set you free. Believe me because I know..
I want you to know that you are not alone Hebrews 13:5-6. There are countless women and children who are feeling exactly what your feeling. I would like you to use this site to find fellowship and friendship with other women so we can help each other to carry our burdens Galatians 6:2 . I believe God has a plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans to give you a hope and a future.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please invite Him into your heart and make Him the Lord of your life. He wants to walk you through this time and be your friend. Jesus 15:13-17. All you need to do is pray this prayer:
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
If you prayed this please email me and I will help you find a local church that will help you in your walk with God.
I would like to invite you to leave a comment of your personal story of what you are going through. You may also email me your story and I will add to this blog. If you need prayer or if you would like to become part of a prayer team please email me or leave a comment.
